A Maharashtra Rent Control (Amendment) Bill, 2025 (L. A. Bill No. LXXXII of 2025) was introduced in 2025; as of October 2026 no official record shows it passed or published as an Act, so it is not reflected in this text.

(1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999.

(2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Maharashtra.

(3) It shall come into force on such date¹ as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
