Section 218: Delivery of possession of property allotted on partition

The Rajasthan Land Revenue Act, 1956

How current this text is

Text as published by India Code for the Government of Rajasthan (the "updated" English file), with amendments up to Rajasthan Act No. 9 of 2022.

A Rajasthan Land Revenue (Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2025 (Bill No. 7 of 2025) inserts section 100-A (Government land placed at the disposal of RIICO for industrial areas) and clause (xvii-a) in section 261(2). Its Act number and assent could not be confirmed from an official source; these changes are not shown in this text.

This copy does not print the Chapter headings of the Act and contains many typing errors (for example "swim partition" and "audible estate" in section 186); the text is reproduced as printed.

Any person or persons to whom any land is allotted in the instrument of partitions shall be entitled separate possession thereof as against the other parties to the partition and their legal representatives, and the Collector shall, on application made to him for the purpose by such person or persons at any time within three years from the date recorded in the instrument of partition under sub- section

(1) of Section 217, give effect to that instrument as if it were a decree passed by a civil court for recovery of possession over immovable property.
