Section 32: Savings

Text as published by India Code for the Government of Telangana (Revenue Department): the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition Act, 1995 as in force in the combined State on 2 June 2014, adapted to Telangana under section 101 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 by the notification issued in G.O.Ms.No.6, Revenue (Excise-II) Department, dated 06.01.2016, with amendments up to Act No.17 of 2006.

The heading of Chapter IV carries a footnote that cannot be shown with the heading: "Chapter IV consisting of sections 15 and 16 substituted by Act No. 5 of 1997, consisting of section 15."

Nothing in this Act shall be deemed to preclude,-

(a) the ¹[Telangana State Beverages Corporation Limited / Agency] to carry on trade in liquor in accordance with rules made in this behalf;

(b) the buying and selling of liquor carried on by the military canteens in the State under any licence granted in accordance with the provisions of the ²Telangana Excise Act, 1968 and the rule made thereunder; and

³[(c) the consumption and utilization of medicines, toilet preparations and other food material containing alcohol.]

⁴[Explanation:- Liquor for the purposes of this section does not include arrack.]
